About Costa

Dr Ana Costa is a Weight Management Specialist with a strong interest in the role of hormones in health and disease. She graduated in Medicine from Universidade Potiguar and has been practising for five years. Following her growing interest in obesity as a chronic disease—particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic—she completed a Master of Science in Weight Management at the University of Chester. She is committed to prescribing modern weight loss treatments safely, ethically, and in line with evidence-based medicine.

Dr Costa began her career in hospitals and emergency care, building a solid clinical foundation before moving into primary care, where she discovered her passion for long-term patient management. She has also worked as a sub-investigator in clinical trials in collaboration with AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford. She is a member of the Association for the Study of Obesity (ASO).

Dr Costa is known for her attentive and compassionate approach, prioritising active listening and clear communication. A personal experience of losing her brother to cancer deeply shaped her values, reinforcing her belief that excellent care requires both scientific knowledge and genuine empathy. Fluent in Portuguese and English, she supports patients in achieving sustainable, long-term health improvements. Outside medicine, she has a keen interest in sport, particularly rhythmic gymnastics.
